Online Voting Rules

  1. The online voting process is only recognized for deliberations of the Board of Directors. The process may be used at the President’s discretion. Online voting will be treated as a form of special meeting, and the bylaws governing special meetings shall likewise apply. The objection of a single director will nullify an active online voting process.
  2. A motion must be announced using both the Email and SMS modes of the OscarTRACK QuickMessage feature, and the announcements must be made a minimum of three calendar days before voting on the motion may be closed.
  3. At the request of any board member, the three day duration for collecting votes will be extended by an additional two days (for a total duration of five days).
  4. No online vote may commit the squad to any contract lasting more than one year. The non-contractual impact of an online vote may only have effect until the next regular board meeting, at which a motion to ratify the online vote must be considered.
