VB Rescue Council leader seat goes from one KVRS leader to another

At the Virginia Beach Rescue Council (VBRC), the Vice President seat most recently held by KVRS Captain Marisa Rifenburgh has been assumed by KVRS President Kevin Lipscomb.

The Virginia Beach Rescue Council, or VBRC, is a democratic forum for the leadership of all ten of the city’s volunteer rescue squads, plus the city’s volunteer EMS Marine Response Team. Its current president is Mike McCracken, who is also the Squad Commander of the Chesapeake Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Captain Rifenburgh had held the VBRC VP seat in recent years until she won a competitive process to get hired as the Recruitment and Retention Coordinator at the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad Foundation. She retains her position as KVRS Captain.

Lipscomb has held the VBRC VP position before, many years ago. He also served as VBRC President for some years. He retains his position as KVRS President.
